Welcome! My name is Marek and I’m a self-taught sustainable landscaper and gardener 👋
In 2018, my wife and I purchased a home in Los Angeles that had large front and back yards (3000 square feet). In early 2019, we divorced. To cope with the divorce, I took the only yard tool I owned (a shovel) and started digging. At the time, my property looked like it had front and back graveyards full of dead grass and bamboo, and I knew I wanted to change that. So, I kept digging… and learning. It turns out that LA has an amazing Turf Replacement Program Rebate, which I researched, applied for, and successfully received. The journey of transforming my yards took 3 years at a net cost of $1000 (thanks to a rebate of over $10,000 from LADWP).
Bolder Green exists because I want to teach you how to transform your yard into sustainable habitats, conserve water, and leave the planet in a better state than when you found it. Also, if you’re going through a divorce, gardening and landscaping helps with the big feels you’re bound to have.
